Hi! My name is Cara. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 10+ years of experience treating various psychiatric concerns such as anxiety, depression and substance use disorders using evidenced based therapy practices. Ever since I was a child, I knew that I wanted to have a job helping people. So, that is my goal…to help you. Life has taught me many things and I can share what I have learned through my personal and professional experiences. If you are interested in allowing me to support you on your journey of recovery and wellbeing, please reach out using the referral link below for more information.
A little bit about me…I am a mom of two children who I love without measure. I have been married for 17 years to my husband who is the love of my life. I love dogs (animals in general) and am a mom to four fur babies. I completed a 4-year undergraduate degree in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from Southern Adventist University and then went on to get my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. After graduating, I worked at a local psychiatric hospital for several years and gained additional experience while I worked towards my licensure (LCSW). I am now licensed with the State of Tennessee. Prior patients have found me to be personable and empathetic. I can be both direct and gentle in my therapy approaches and I communicate well with others. I am a Christian, and with specific conversation and consent I can incorporate a spiritual strength component into therapy if desired. I look forward to speaking with you further about your therapy goals!
Services
I provide individual mental health therapy using various evidenced based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness approaches and Psychoanalytic practices.
The group picture is of me and some of my closest friends who encouraged me to climb up to Devils Bridge in Arizona. It was very challenging, but I did it! This proves that we can do things we didn’t think we were capable of doing. Therapy can be an important tool to navigate through life’s challenges in order to achieve health and fulfillment.
